The Organizational Structure Of Apple Inc. - 1491 Words
The overall success of a company can be measured in its organisational structure as well as its ability to align the internal firm effects and the external industry effects. Organisational structure is defined as ââ¬Å"The formal system of task and authority relationships that control how people coordinate their actions and use resources to achieve organisational goalsâ⬠(Jones, 2010). The company that will be analysed in this report is Apple Inc. Created on April 1 1976 by founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, Apple has become a market leader in the technology industry. Apple is a multinational corporation that designs, develops and sells consumer electronics, computer software and personal computers as well as being a digital distributer of media content. The popular core products to come from Apple are the iPhone, iPad, iPod and iMac computers. This report will address the characteristics of Appleââ¬â¢s organisational structure including what structure Apple has and the three structural issues of organisation structure. It will then address the external factors that affect the organisation using a pestel analysis and Porterââ¬â¢s five forces analysis. Next it will address the internal factors that affect Apple including the strategic capabilities and core capabilities of the organisation. Finally, recommendations will be made based on the analysis looking towards the future of Apple.
